וַ֠אֲנַחְנוּ נִכְרֹ֨ת עֵצִ֤ים מִן־הַלְּבָנוֹן֙ כְּכָל־צָרְכֶּ֔ךָ וּנְבִיאֵ֥ם לְךָ֛ רַפְסֹד֖וֹת עַל־יָ֣ם יָפ֑וֹ וְאַתָּ֛ה תַּעֲלֶ֥ה אֹתָ֖ם יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ (פ)
and we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as thou shalt need; and we will bring it to thee in floats by sea to Joppa; and thou shalt carry it up to Jerusalem.’

Assada is the same as σχεδία, which is the same as raphsodot.243The end of the Halakhah explains the unusual word used for “raft” at the end of the Mishnah. The verse refers to the logs of cedar delivered by Hiram of Tyre to Solomon for the building of the Temple. (2Chr. 2:15) “We shall bring them to you as rafts.”
